Active Morning Buzz: Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), Altera Corp. (NASDAQ:ALTR), Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR)

On Friday, in the course of current trade, Shares of Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), gained 0.56%, and is now trading at $15.38.

Ford Motor Company, is offering competitors access to its electrified vehicle technology patents – a move to assist accelerate industry-wide research and development of electrified vehicles.

In 2014, Ford filed more than 400 patents dedicated to electrified vehicle technologies. This is more than 20 percent of the patents the company filed – totaling more than 2,000 applications.

Ford’s innovations have resulted in acclaimed electrified vehicles on the road recently, but the company believes sharing its patented technologies will promote faster development of future inventions as all automakers look toward greater opportunities.

Ford Motor Company manufactures and distributes automobiles worldwide. The company operates through two sectors, Automotive and Financial Services. The Automotive sector develops, manufactures, distributes, and services vehicles, parts, and accessories.

In an opening trade, Shares of Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), gained 0.21%, and is now trading at $85.29.

Shareholders of big oil companies overwhelmingly rejected several environmental resolutions counting proposals to put climate-change experts on their boards and set aims for greenhouse-gas emissions, according to AP.

The votes at meetings of Exxon Mobil Corp. and Chevron Corp. shareholders on Wednesday were predictable. Some of the ideas had lost badly at previous annual meetings.

Lower prices for crude have cut into the oil giants’ profits. At the Exxon Mobil meeting in Dallas, CEO Rex Tillerson said the company is positioned to withstand ups and down in oil prices and give shareholders a good return on their money. AP Reports on May 27.

Shares of Altera Corp. (NASDAQ:ALTR), during its Friday’s current trading session gained 4.22%, and is now trading at $48.95, hitting its highest level.

Altera Corporation, kicked-off this month the 2015 5G Algorithm Innovation Competition in China, the industry’s first university competition focused on the most advanced technology for communications networks of the future.

Hosted by Altera, Xidian University, and Terasic, and sponsored by Huawei, Intel, and Spreadtrum, this 5G-focused competition is part of the InnovateAsia 2015 FPGA Design Contest, an established engineering design contest for university students in APAC. The 5G competition aims to enable innovation, foster talent and motivate the development of the 5G industry. The contest is open to all graduate and senior undergraduate engineering students in China.

Altera Corporation, a semiconductor company, designs and sells programmable logic devices (PLDs), HardCopy application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) devices, power system-on-chip devices (PowerSoCs), pre-defined design building blocks, and associated development tools.

Finally, Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR), gained 0.47% Friday.

Juniper Networks, declared details regarding its forthcoming participation at NANOG 64. Hosted by the North American Network Operators’ Group, this event is dedicated to the education, sharing and discovery of advanced networking techniques and applications for network operators.

At the three-day conference held at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, Juniper experts will present on a range of networking topics pertaining to technologies and systems that make the Internet function.

Juniper Networks, Inc. designs, develops, and sells high-performance network products and services worldwide.
