Active Stocks in Action: Frontier Communications Corporation, (NASDAQ:FTR), Exxon Mobil Corporation, (NYSE:XOM), KeyCorp., (NYSE:KEY)

On Thursday, Shares of Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:FTR), gained 0.60% to $5.01, as Technology stocks ended slightly higher Thursday with shares of technology companies in the S&P 500 adding about 0.1% in late-afternoon trade.

Frontier Communications Corporation, a communications company, provides regulated and unregulated voice, data, and video services to residential, business, and wholesale customers in the United States.

Shares of Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), declined -0.14% to $85.09, during its last trading session, as crude oil futures slumped on Thursday, as the U.S. dollar rallied sharply after upbeat retail sales data added to expectations for higher interest rates later this year.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil for July delivery shed 73 cents, or 1.19%, to trade at $60.70 a barrel during U.S. morning hours after hitting a daily low of $60.47.

Exxon Mobil Corporation explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada/South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia/Oceania. It also manufactures and markets commodity petrochemicals, counting olefins, aromatics, polyethylene and polypropylene plastics, and specialty products; and transports and sells crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products.

Finally, KeyCorp. (NYSE:KEY), ended its last trade with -0.32% loss, and closed at $15.36.

The KeyBank Foundation has declared a grant of $2 million to Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) which will support a combined effort to enhance and expand medical students’ interprofessional education experiences. The interprofessional education model, which focuses on integrating all disciplines in teaching and learning environments, is “a necessary step in preparing a ‘collaborative, practice-ready’ health workforce,” in addition to improving patient health outcomes, according to a report by the World Health Organization.

“With this grant, we are excited to expand our relationship with Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University,” said CEO of KeyBank Foundation Margot Copeland. “The interprofessional model is the future of medical education, and supporting two top medical institutions as they transform how medicine is taught and delivered is an honor.”

The grant support is two-fold. At the Cleveland Clinic, it will renew and grow the KeyBank Minority Medical Student Fellowship presently in place at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine by doubling the number of scholars to a total of 10 during the grant period. The scholarships allow the students to receive support throughout their education towards graduation and assist to ensure the student body is diverse and reflective of the communities served. Additionally, the grant will assist fund Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine’s (CCLM) outreach initiatives aimed at underserved communities, counting the annual Minority Men’s Health Fair and Celebrate Sisterhood.

KeyCorp operates as the bank holding company for KeyBank National Association that provides various retail and commercial banking services to individual, corporate, and institutional clients in the United States.
