Absolute Software Corporation, declared a contract with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) to incorporate Persistence technology by Absolute into AMD chip designs.
Under the terms of this agreement, Absolute and AMD will provide an improved security offering by embedding patented Persistence technology directly into AMD x86 APU technologies.
“In the interest of improving the privacy and security of our customers, we have been steadfast in our commitment to evolve security offerings through our technology,” said Roy Taylor , corporate vice president, Alliances, AMD. “We are excited to work with Absolute to leverage its unique Persistence technology by integrating this security functionality into AMD processors.”

TSYS, declared that Patricia A. Watson, a 17-year veteran of the financial services industry, has been named senior executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) effective September 14.
Watson comes to TSYS with more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry serving in a variety of technology-related roles. Most recently she has served as vice president and global CIO for The Brinks Company, based in Coppell, Texas. Preceding to joining Brinks, Watson worked with Bank of America for more than 14 years in a number of technology positions with increasing responsibility, counting the role of senior technology executive for the bank’s treasury, payments and credit area.
Watson earned her bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame in Indiana, and is also a graduate of the University of Dayton in Ohio, where she received her Master of Business Administration. Watson spent 10 years serving in the United States Air Force as executive staff officer, flight commander and director of operations.

Finally, Pattern Energy Group Inc (NASDAQ:PEGI), ended its last trade with -0.56% loss, and closed at $23.19.
Pattern Energy Group, declared the completion of about $205 million in project financing and the start of full construction on its Conejo Solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Chile. The 122 megawatt (MW) Conejo Solar PV power project is being constructed about 30 kilometers east of Taltal in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
“We are expanding into the solar power market with one of the largest solar projects in Latin America,” said Mike Garland, President and CEO of Pattern Development. “Conejo Solar was originated by Pattern Development, demonstrating that solar power is an excellent fit with our wind business that allows us to leverage our extensive development expertise. In addition to our El Arrayán wind facility, the largest in Chile, we now have a strong platform and an exciting pipeline of projects for future growth in the country. When combined with our recent Japanese solar project additions, we are making a noteworthy step to diversify into solar on a global basis.”
Construction of the project is predictable to be accomplished in the summer of 2016.
Conejo Solar has a 22-year power purchase agreement with Minera Los Pelambres, an associate of Antofagasta Minerals, for about 65% of the project’s output over the term of the agreement. The project will connect to the Sistema Interconectado Central (SIC) transmission system and is located on public lands owned by the government of Chile, under a long-term concession.
Pattern Energy Group Inc., an independent power company, owns and operates power projects in the United States, Canada, and Chile. As of March 2, 2015, the company owned interests in 12 wind power projects with the capacity of 1,636 megawatts. It sells electricity primarily to local utilities.
