Active Stocks in the Spotlight: Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE:SCHW), ASML Holding NV (ADR) (NASDAQ:ASML), J B Hunt Transport Services Inc (NASDAQ:JBHT)

On Monday, Shares of Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE:SCHW), gained 0.57% to $34.99.

As many independent registered investment advisor (RIA) firms surpass the 20 years-in-business mark, their revenue and profitability have achieved all-time highs according to results from Charles Schwab’s 2015 RIA Benchmarking Study (Study). Nearly half of firms (42%) participating in the Study have doubled their revenue since 2009, and assets under administration (AUM) have raised by 75 percent for half of firms in the Study over the same time period, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.1 percent. Together with AUM growth, profitability - measured as standardized operating margin - has risen 36 percent over the last five years and now stands at 27 percent for the median1 firm in the Study. Moreover, the gap in profitability has reduced between the most profitable and least profitable firms as the industry continues to mature and more firms adopt best practices and technology-led innovations.

Now in its ninth year, the Study comprises responses from more than 1,000 firms collectively managing nearly three-quarters of a trillion dollars in assets. In addition to record revenue and profitability, the data also shows that RIA firms have achieved an effective combination of growth and improved operating margins as they are increasingly institutionalizing operations and making planned decisions around talent – not only to manage their recent growth, but also to be better positioned to succeed into the next decade and beyond. The results indicate that the sustained, rapid growth trajectory over the past five years has also assisted build considerable value in many firms. Schwab benchmarking data indicates firms are not only increasing assets under administration through both client acquisition and organic growth but are also enjoying high client and employee retention – attributes of business health and value.

Shares of ASML Holding NV (ADR) (NASDAQ:ASML), inclined 0.45% to $101.00, during its last trading session.

ASML Holding NV, declared a neon gas reduction program for the installed base of argon fluoride (ArF) and krypton fluoride (KrF) light sources. The program comprises new light source software to reduce neon consumption across the installed base of light sources, rapid qualification of new gas suppliers, and a light source upgrade to enable reclaim of used neon, allowing gas suppliers to reuse existing neon and further reduce the need for additional supplies. The neon gas reduction program has been put in place by Cymer to reduce dependence on neon, a key gas for operation of the light source, and to insulate our customers from fluctuations of neon supply.

“Chipmakers are concerned about recent escalation of neon prices and supply continuity,” said David Knowles, Vice President and General Manager of Cymer Light Source. “We have worked in close cooperation with our customers on an aggressive program to develop, qualify and introduce improvements for the installed base of ArF and KrF light sources that enable noteworthy reductions in neon consumption while ensuring system performance.”

ASML Holding N.V. engages in the development, production, marketing, sale, and servicing of advanced semiconductor equipment systems with a focus on lithography related systems worldwide.

Finally, J B Hunt Transport Services Inc (NASDAQ:JBHT), ended its last trade with -1.28% loss, and closed at $83.61.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, declared second quarter 2015 net earnings of $103.4 million, or diluted earnings per share of 88 cents vs. second quarter 2014 net earnings of $93.4 million, or 79 cents per diluted share.

Total operating revenue for the current quarter was $1.54 billion, contrast with $1.55 billion for the second quarter 2014. Customer rate enhances across all business units, load growth of 2% in Intermodal (JBI), a 6% enhance in revenue producing trucks in Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) and load growth of 12% in Integrated Capacity Solutions (ICS) could not offset the decrease in fuel surcharge revenue, sluggish consumer freight demand and lower equipment utilization in our Truck (JBT) business segment resulting in flat merged revenue contrast to preceding year. Current quarter total operating revenue, not taking into account fuel surcharges, raised 7% vs. the comparable quarter 2014.
