Active Stocks in the Spotlight: Omnicare Inc. (NYSE:OCR), Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:PTEN),Quantum Corporation (NYSE:QTM)

On Monday, Shares of Omnicare Inc. (NYSE:OCR), lost -0.02% to $97.90, hitting its highest level.

Shareholders of Omnicare Inc. will vote Tuesday on whether the Cincinnati-based Fortune 500 firm should be sold to CVS Health Corp. in a deal valued at $12.7 billion.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m. at the Westin Cincinnati Hotel, 21 E. Fifth St.

Omnicare, Inc. operates as a healthcare services company that specializes in the administration of pharmaceutical care in the United States. The company’s Long-Term Care Group segment offers pharmaceuticals, and related pharmacy and ancillary services to long-term care facilities; and chronic care facilities and other settings.

Shares of Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:PTEN), declined -1.55% to $16.47, during its last trading session, after U.S. oil prices fell Monday to a fresh six-year low on concerns that the glut of crude oil is set to grow, according to WSJ.

Light, sweet crude for September delivery fell 63 cents, or 1.5%, to $41.87 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the lowest settlement since March 3, 2009. Brent, the global benchmark, fell 45 cents, or 0.9%, to $48.74 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. WSJ Reports

Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc., through its auxiliaries, provides onshore contract drilling services to major and independent oil and natural gas operators in the United States and Canada. The company operates through three segments: Contract Drilling, Pressure Pumping, and Oil and Natural Gas.

Finally, Quantum Corporation (NYSE:QTM), ended its last trade with -1.82% loss, and closed at $1.08.

Quantum Corporation declared that it has amended its credit agreement with Wells Fargo Capital Finance, LLC to provide additional flexibility in using proceeds from loans under the agreement to repay the $84 million in convertible notes due Nov. 15, 2015. Among other changes, the amendment enhances the amount of foreign accounts receivable and intellectual property assets comprised of in the borrowing base and modifies the maturity date.

Quantum Corporation provides scale-out storage, archive, and data protection solutions for small businesses to major enterprises in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. Its scale-out storage portfolio comprises StorNext software, appliances and full systems called StorNext Pro Solutions, in addition to Lattus extended online storage and Q-Cloud Archive services.
