Regions Bank declared that Jenny Hite, a private wealth advisor in Huntsville, Ala., is the August 2015 recipient of the Regions Bank Better Life Award. The Better Life Award is the top honor given to a Regions associate for outstanding dedication and job performance, as well as exemplary involvement and commitment to the community.
In addition to the recognition, Regions donates $1,000 in the name of the recipient to a nonprofit organization of the winner’s choice. Hite, originally from Bulgaria, chose the International Society of Huntsville (ISH). The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, better known as Cal/OSHA, has fined Exxon Mobil Corp. $566,600 in penalties over an explosion at the company’s Torrance refinery that injured four workers, according to American City Business Journals.
Cal/OSHA said it issued 19 citations to ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Co. for workplace safety and health violations following an investigation into the Feb. 18 explosion.
Eighteen of the citations were classified as serious due to a realistic possibility of worker death or serious injury. Six of these serious violations were also classified as willful because Cal/OSHA found that Exxon did not take action to eliminate known hazardous conditions at the refinery and said it intentionally failed to comply with state safety standards.
