Active Stocks News Recap: Facebook, (NASDAQ:FB), Transocean, (NYSE:RIG), BioMed Realty Trust, (NYSE:BMR)

On Thursday, Shares of Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB), gained 0.43% to $87.29.

Facebook, Inc. declared that the company’s second quarter 2015 financial results will be released after market close on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

Facebook will host a conference call to talk about its results at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET the same day. The live webcast of the call can be accessed at the Facebook Investor Relations website at investor.fb.com, together with the company’s earnings press release, financial tables and slide presentation.

Facebook, Inc. operates as a social networking company worldwide. It provides a set of development tools and application programming interfaces that enable developers to integrate with Facebook to create mobile and Web applications.

Shares of Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG), settled flat to $15.59, during its last trading session.

On June 22, Transocean issued a monthly Fleet Update Summary, which comprises new contracts, changes to existing contracts, and changes in estimated planned out-of-service time of 15 or more days since the May 18, 2015 Fleet Update Summary. The total value of new contracts since the last report is about $109 million.

The report comprises the following:

  • Transocean Andaman - Awarded a one year contract extension offshore Thailand at a dayrate of $115,000 ($42 million estimated backlog).
  • Deepwater Champion - Awarded a three month contract extension in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at a dayrate of $395,000 ($36 million estimated backlog).
  • GSF Galaxy II - Awarded a one well contract extension in the U.K. sector of the North Sea at a dayrate of $190,000 ($17 million estimated backlog).
  • Sedco Express - Awarded a 45 day contract offshore Nigeria at a dayrate of $300,000 ($14 million estimated backlog).
  • The company has amended its construction contracts with Sembcorp Marine`s partner, Jurong Shipyard, to delay the delivery of its two newbuild, ultra-deepwater drillships by 24 months. The two drillships are now predictable to be delivered in the second quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, respectively.
  • The GSF Monarch and Transocean Spitsbergen are idle. The Spitsbergen`s well program concluded 45 days early due to efficient performance of the rig; the contract provides for a payment to the company in the event of an early termination.
  • The GSF C.R. Luigs is stacked; the rig was formerly idle.
  • Estimated 2015 out-of-service time raised by a net 45 days.

 

Transocean Ltd., together with its auxiliaries, provides offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells worldwide. The company primarily offers deepwater and harsh environment drilling services. As of February 17, 2015, it owned or had partial ownership interests in, and operated 71 mobile offshore drilling units that comprise of 44 high-specification floaters, 17 midwater floaters, and 10 high-specification jackups.

Finally, BioMed Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE:BMR), ended its last trade with -0.26% loss, and closed at $19.52.

BioMed Realty Trust, declared that Illumina, Inc. (ILMN), a world leader in genomics focused on improving human health by unlocking the power of the genome, has signed a 20-year lease for a 155,000 square foot new and innovative scientific research building in Cambridge, England. The project will provide Illumina a collaborative environment and access to the highly skilled workforce in the dynamic research cluster anchored by Cambridge University.

The project advances state-of-the-art design, with plans to be able to seamlessly expand by 70,000 square feet into a 225,000 square foot building. BioMed Realty attained the land for the project from The Welding Institute under a long term ground lease, enlarging BioMed Realty’s Granta Park campus in Cambridge, England.

BioMed Realty Trust, Inc. operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT) that focuses on providing real estate to the life science industry in the United States.
