On Tuesday, Shares of Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), lost -0.18% to $33.53.

Pfizer Inc., declared the election of Joseph J. Echevarria to its Board of Directors, effective right away. Mr. Echevarria also was designated to the Audit, Regulatory and Compliance and Science and Technology Committees of Pfizer’s Board.

Mr. Echevarria, 58, stepped down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deloitte LLP, a global provider of professional services, in August 2014. He had been with the firm for 36 years and served in various leadership roles, counting Deputy Managing Partner, Southeast Region Audit Managing Partner, U.S. Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer. He was designated CEO in 2011.

Mr. Echevarria serves as a Director of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. He is a member of the President’s Export Council and the Presidential Commission on Election Administration and also serves as Chair of President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami.

In addition to Pete Petit, ten other entrepreneurs were named award recipients in various industry categories in the Southeast Program. EY acknowledged Petit for his success as a serial entrepreneur, and for leading and investing personally in MiMedx at a time when the company had no revenue.

Finally, Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE:GG), ended its last trade with -0.98% loss, and closed at $16.20, hitting its lowest level.

Goldcorp Inc., declared the closing of the formerly declared secondary offering of the shares in Tahoe Resources Inc.. A total of 58,051,692 Tahoe common shares beneficially held by Goldcorp were sold at an offering price of C$17.20 per share for gross proceeds of about C$1 billion. The Offering was accomplished through a syndicate of underwriters led by GMP Securities L.P. and BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. acting as joint book-runners and counting CIBC World Markets Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., TD Securities Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Canada Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (Canada), Inc., Goldman Sachs Canada Inc., Laurentian Bank Securities Inc., Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., Morgan Stanley Canada Ltd., Beacon Securities Limited, Canaccord Genuity Corp., Cormark Securities Inc., Dundee Securities Ltd., Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd., Paradigm Capital Inc. and Raymond James Ltd.

“This transaction is consistent with our long-term commitment to maintaining a strong balance sheet,” said Chuck Jeannes, Goldcorp President and CEO. “The team at Tahoe has done an outstanding job of creating shareholder value and we wish them continued success in the future.”

As a result of the Offering, Goldcorp no longer owns any common shares of Tahoe. Tahoe did not receive any proceeds from the Offering.
