Active Stocks to Track: Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT), Pretium Resources Inc (NYSE:PVG), Pioneer Energy Services Corp (NYSE:PES)

On Monday, Shares of Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT), gained 3.71% to $80.16.

Caterpillar Inc., Director of Investor Relations Rich Moore will speak at the Jefferies 2015 Industrials Conference on Wednesday, August 12. He is planned to speak at 1:20 p.m. Eastern Time.

Caterpillar Inc. manufactures and sells construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives worldwide.

Shares of Pretium Resources Inc (NYSE:PVG), inclined 7.38% to $5.24, during its last trading session.

Pretium Resources reported the following highlights from the second quarter of 2015 and updates for its high-grade gold Brucejack Project in northern British Columbia.

Second Quarter 2015 Highlights and Noteworthy Events

  • On April 2, 2015, we declared that we had reached a comprehensive Cooperation and Benefits Agreement with the Nisga’a Nation in respect of our Brucejack Project (see news release dated April 2, 2015). This Agreement establishes a long-term, mutually-beneficial relationship between Pretivm and the Nisga’a Nation, who have rights and interests as defined by the Nisga’a Final Agreement in the Nass Area where portions of the Project are located.
  • On May 13, 2015, we declared that Robert Quartermain had been designated as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Ovsenek was promoted to President, Michelle Romero was promoted to Vice President, Corporate and Kevin Torpy was promoted to General Manager - Brucejack Mine.
  • On May 20, 2015, we declared a private placement of flow-through common shares of the Company, at a price of $8.75 per share. The private placement was accomplished on June 8, 2015 and a total of 800,000 flow-through shares were issued, for total gross proceeds of about $7,000,000. The proceeds from the private placement will be used to fund grass-roots exploration with an airborne geophysical program and a surface drill program targeting geophysical anomalies east of the Brucejack Project.
  • On June 4, 2015, we declared initial results from the underground infill drill program in the Brucejack Project’s Valley of the Kings. Stope definition drilling intersected visible gold and continued to confirm the continuity of gold mineralization in stope areas defined by the June 2014 Feasibility Study for the Brucejack Project.
  • Working capital at June 30, 2015 was $60.8 million.
  • Subsequent to the end of the quarter, on July 15, 2015, we declared a second set of results from the underground infill drill program in the Valley of the Kings which continued to confirm the style and grade distribution of the gold mineralization in the area presently being tested, counting the intersection of high-grade and visible gold.
  • On July 30, 2015, we declared that we received a positive Environmental Assessment Decision Statement from the Federal Minister of the Environment.

Pretium Resources Inc. acquires, explores, and develops precious metal resource properties in the Americas. Its mineral interests comprise of gold/copper/silver exploration projects.

Finally, Pioneer Energy Services Corp (NYSE:PES), ended its last trade with 10.95% gain, and closed at $3.75.

Pioneer Energy Services, stated financial and operating results for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. Notable items for the second quarter and developments comprise:

  • Well servicing rig utilization was 73% with average pricing of $595 per hour.
  • Drilling utilization in the second quarter was 63% based on an average fleet of 37 rigs.
  • Year-to-date sold 27 mechanical and lower horsepower electric drilling rigs for net proceeds of $33.4 million and have one additional rig designated as held-for-sale.
  • Mobilizing the second of five new-build 1,500 horsepower AC drilling rigs planned to be delivered in 2015.
  • Presently have 17 rigs earning under contract, which comprises six rigs earning but not working.
