Active Stocks to Track: Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:FITB), Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (NYSE:BERY),

On Thursday, Shares of Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:FITB), gained 0.98% to $20.66.

Fifth Third Bancorp, board of directors declared that Greg D. Carmichael, current president and chief operating officer, will become president and chief executive officer effective November 1, 2015. Carmichael was also elected to the board, effective right away.

Carmichael will succeed Kevin T. Kabat, who has informed the board of his intention to retire. Kabat has served as CEO since April, 2007, and he will remain executive vice chairman of the board until his retirement in April 2016. His career comprised of 33 years of combined service at Fifth Third and a predecessor.

Board chair James P. Hackett said that the succession provides continuity of leadership and leverages the extensive experience of Carmichael in leading all operating units of the Bank. Hackett said, “Greg is the ideal choice, and the Bank is well-positioned for future growth, with a diverse and dynamic consumer business, an expanding wealth administration business, and a strong commercial business with expanding scale and scope.”

Fifth Third Bancorp operates as a diversified financial services company in the United States. It operates through four segments: Commercial Banking, Branch Banking, Consumer Lending, and Investment Advisors.

Finally, Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (NYSE:BERY), ended its last trade with -0.09% loss, and closed at $33.34.

Berry Plastics Group, will report its third quarter fiscal 2015 results on Friday, July 31, 2015, before trading starts on the New York Stock Exchange. At 10 a.m. Eastern Time on that day, Berry Plastics will hold its regular quarterly conference call on the Company’s results and performance.

Berry Plastics Group, Inc. manufactures and distributes plastic consumer packaging and engineered materials in North America and internationally. The company operates through four segments: Rigid Open Top, Rigid Closed Top, Engineered Materials, and Flexible Packaging.
