Active Stocks Trader’s Round Up: Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:MPC), Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX)

On Wednesday, Shares of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), gained 0.53% to $47.85.

New investors BDC Capital, Mistral Venture Partners, and VMware joined the Series D financing round, in which all current investors took part: Highland Capital Partners, Mesirow Financial Private Equity Inc., Verizon Ventures, a partner of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, NASDAQ:VZ), Ericsson (ERIC), DCM Ventures, and Cross Creek Advisors.

This investment will assist accelerate CENX’s global market and portfolio expansion in addressing emerging requirements for Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) for service providers that are evolving to Software-defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) technologies. CENX’s Cortx Service Orchestrator is an essential enabler of SDN and NFV deployments, leveraging the power of network big data analytics for dynamic provisioning, visualization and assurance of data services across heterogeneous physical and virtualized networks.

CENX provides Lifecycle Service Orchestration solutions that automate fulfillment and assurance of advanced data services in software-defined networks, bridging physical and virtualized network functions.

Shares of Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:MPC), inclined 3.47% to $57.80, during its last trading session, as Oil closed higher on Wednesday as a weaker dollar and lower U.S. crude stockpiles offered a modest bounce off six-year lows hit the previous session, when worries about China’s plummeting currency and economic slowdown sank prices, according to CNBC.

U.S. light crude oil settled up 22 cents, or 0.5 percent, at $43.30 a barrel, after gaining almost 80 cents at the session high. On Tuesday, the market fell $1.88, or more than 4 percent, to settle at $43.08 a barrel, its lowest close since March 2009.

Benchmark Brent crude oil was up 53 cents a barrel at $49.70, after a session high at $49.91. CNBC Reports

Marathon Petroleum Corporation, together with its auxiliaries, engages in refining, marketing, retailing, and transporting petroleum products primarily in the United States. It operates through three segments: Refining & Marketing, Speedway, and Pipeline Transportation.

Finally, Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX), ended its last trade with 0.18% gain, and closed at $79.91.

Time Warner reaffirmed its 2015 full-year business outlook. The Company continues to expect its 2015 full-year Adjusted Diluted Income per Common Share from Ongoing Operations (“Adjusted EPS”) to be in the range of $4.60 to $4.70.
