During Thursday’s Afternoon trade, Shares of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), lost -1.53% to $42.85.
Verizon Enterprise Solution’s Secure Cloud Interconnect service will now offer Microsoft ExpressRoute for Office 365, Skype for Business and Microsoft Azure Government Cloud as announced at Microsoft Corp.’s online conference AzureCon on Tuesday (Sept. 29).
Verizon’s private networking option provides additional benefits and control to Azure, Office 365 and Skype for Business customers, including consumption-based bandwidth, pre-provisioned on-demand resources, controlled application performance and varying classes of service.
“Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect is fast becoming the premier choice for enterprises that are shifting workloads into the cloud,” said Shawn Hakl, vice president of enterprise networking and innovation for Verizon. “Microsoft cloud users will find this solution delivers an unbeatable combination of security, resiliency, application performance, simplicity and efficiency, while enabling a wide range of applications and use cases.”
With this platform, Verizon removes many of the barriers that often affect enterprise cloud adoption, including control, scalability and flexibility.
Secure Cloud Interconnect with Microsoft ExpressRoute for Office 365, Skype for Business and Government Cloud
Azure uses Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect to pre-provision wireless and IP data networking into the cloud service provider community to create a security-improved, high-performance environment.
With this service, Azure users can maintain the security, compriseency and reliability of their business cloud connections, without the need to expose data to the public Internet or to construct costly and time consuming custom network connections.
In addition, Microsoft and Verizon’s interconnect service are built with redundant links to further improvement the reliability of the solution.
Azure ExpressRoute for Office 365 and Skype for Business with SCI are now available in Microsoft’s Verizon’s Northern Virginia, San Jose, London and Hong Kong data centers.
Microsoft Azure Government complies with FedRAMP and FISMA requirements. This option is now available to Azure customers in Microsoft’s data center in Northern Virginia with an additional site in Chicago planned to come online this fall.
