Afternoon Trade News Report on: J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP), International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM), Intersil Corp (NASDAQ:ISIL)

On Tuesday, in the course of Afternoon trade, Shares of J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP), dropped -0.55%, and is now trading at $8.13.

J C. Penney Company, has strengthened its executive leadership team with the appointment of two outstanding senior leaders who will be charged with maximizing the power, reach and integration of the Company`s omnichannel capabilities. Michael Amend, formerly vice president of online, mobile and omnichannel for The Home Depot, will be joining JCPenney on Aug. 4 as executive vice president of omnichannel. Additionally, Mike Robbins, formerly the senior vice president of global supply chain for Target, will be joining the Company as senior vice president of supply chain effective Aug. 10.

“Mr. Amend and Mr. Robbins are two exceptional industry veterans who have a successful track record of creating enterprise inventory networks that enable brick-and-mortar and e-commerce to merge into one seamless shopping experience,” said Marvin Ellison, chief executive officer for JCPenney. “Their backgrounds perfectly align with our long-term growth plan to become a world-class omnichannel retailer.”

J C. Penney Company, Inc., through its partner, J. C. Penney Corporation, Inc., sells merchandise through department stores in the United States. The company sells family apparel and footwear, accessories, fine and fashion jewelry, beauty products, and home furnishings, in addition to provides various services, counting styling salon, optical, portrait photography, and custom decorating.

During an Afternoon trade, Shares of International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM), dipped -1.05%, and is now trading at $157.02.

IBM, declared that Gartner, Inc. has named IBM Security as a leader in Security Information and Event Administration (SIEM) for the seventh year in a row in the newly published Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM.1 This news follows a recent Gartner report listing IBM as the fastest growing vendor in the global security software market based on 2014 revenue.2

SIEM plays a critical role in assisting companies find and stop security attacks earlier by analyzing data across an organizations IT infrastructure in real-time to identify potential security threats.

International Business Machines Corporation provides information technology (IT) products and services worldwide. The company’s Global Technology Services segment provides IT infrastructure and business process services, such as outsourcing, processing, integrated technology, cloud, and technology support.

 

Finally, Intersil Corp (NASDAQ:ISIL) , lost -2.00% Tuesday.

Intersil Corporation, declared financial results for the second quarter of 2015. Revenue of $132.4 million was down 1.3% sequentially. Strong gross margin and lower operating expenses resulted in solid operating margin for the eighth successive quarter. The company stated GAAP earnings per share of $0.28 and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.16.

  • Gross margin performance was strong at 59.3% on a GAAP basis and 59.6% on a non-GAAP basis.
  • The company again stated solid profitability, with GAAP operating margin of 12.2% and non-GAAP operating margin of 20.3%.

  • New products introduced during the quarter represent industry firsts for power administration in tablets and ultrabooks, wearables and industrial applications.

Intersil Corporation designs and develops power administration and precision analog integrated circuits (ICs) for industrial and infrastructure, consumer, and computing markets.
