Ali Maaloul, the star of Al Ahli club, responds to criticism from fans of the Red Genie in recent times.

The Red Genie beat Wydad 3-2 on aggregate in the CAF Champions League final. The first match ended 2-1 to Al Ahly, and the return match ended in a positive draw, with a goal for each team. As a result, Al-Ahli achieved the title for the eleventh time in history and qualified for the Club World Cup for the fourth time in a row.

Maaloul’s First Response to Criticism from Al Ahly Fans

In statements after the meeting, Maaloul said, “Congratulations to all the Al Ahly fans who supported us a lot, especially after the difficult week we had after the first leg match. Some said that I was the reason for the goal we scored in Cairo, but I ignored these criticisms and focused on showing a good level only in the second leg.”

It is worth noting that the Tunisian managed to level the score with Wydad in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final.

He ended his speech with the words: “Thank God, we have achieved a very expensive tournament. We have a great group of players, and the next one is always better for Al Ahly. Wydad was confident of winning the championship, especially after scoring a goal in the first leg, but Al-Ahli knows very well how to win championships.”
