Qiagen NV QGEN signed a long-term planned partnership deal with Japan-based Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation to co-develop new solutions that will facilitate noteworthy improvements in the molecular diagnostics space. The financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.

While Hitachi High-Technologies is a renowned developer of technologies and industrialized instruments catering to life sciences and in-vitro diagnostics, Qiagen serves both the life sciences and clinical diagnostics markets with its unique molecular diagnostic solutions. The aforementioned deal intends to combine the unique capabilities of both these organizations.

Under the terms of the agreement, initial projects will involve both the companies working together on new automation systems based on PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and NGS (next-generation sequencing) technologies. Over the long term, Qiagen and Hitachi also have plans to co-commercialize their products in specific geographic markets.

Per administration, the alliance should deliver a highly powerful platform that will assist advance new molecular testing solutions. It will duly combine NGS (next-generation sequencing) technologies and other molecular expertise of Qiagen with Hitachi’s prowess in instrumentation development.

QIAGEN N.V. provides sample to insight solutions that transform biological samples into valuable molecular insights worldwide. It offers sample technologies to isolate, purify, and stabilize nucleic acids and proteins in plasmid deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) purification, ribonucleic acid purification and stabilization, genomic and viral nucleic acid purification, DNA cleanup after polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing, and library preparation for sequencing applications; and assay technologies to detect molecular targets.

Finally, Cheesecake Factory Inc (NASDAQ:CAKE), gained 0.60%, to $54.02.

The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (CAKE) declared it will release second quarter fiscal 2015 financial results after market close on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The Company will hold a conference call to discuss its results on the same day beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
