RESULTS FOR THE THREE AND SIX MONTH PERIODS ENDED APRIL 30, 2015:

  • Total revenues were $468.9 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2015, an enhance of 4.2% contrast with $449.9 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2014. For the six months ended April 30, 2015, total revenues raised 12.4% to $914.7 million contrast with $814.0 million in the first half of the preceding year.
  • Homebuilding gross margin percentage, before interest expense and land charges comprised of in cost of sales, was 16.1% for the second quarter ended April 30, 2015, contrast with 20.2% in last year’s second quarter.   • Net loss was $19.6 million, or $0.13 per common share, for the second quarter of fiscal 2015, contrast with a net loss of $7.9 million, or $0.05 per common share, in the second quarter of the previous year. For the six months ended April 30, 2015, the net loss was $33.9 million, or $0.23 per common share, contrast with a net loss of $32.4 million, or $0.22 per common share, in the first half of fiscal 2014.

Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. designs, constructs, markets, and sells residential homes in the United States. It constructs single-family detached homes, attached townhomes and condominiums, urban infill, and active adult homes.

During an Afternoon trade, Shares of Kinross Gold Corporation (NYSE:KGC), gained 2.40%, and is now trading at $2.56, as Gold prices rose to a one-week high on Wednesday as a bumpy ride in currency markets and European bonds prompted some investors to seek safety in precious metals.

Gold prices rallied after Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda talked the yen higher against the dollar, making the dollar-priced metal more alluring to foreign buyers. Mr. Kuroda said the yen had gotten too weak and was unlikely to fall further, assisting lift the Japanese currency to a two-week high against the dollar. WSJ.com.

Kinross Gold Corporation, together with its auxiliaries, engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of gold bearing properties. It is involved in mining and processing gold and silver ores. The company’s gold production and exploration activities are carried out principally in Canada, the United States, the Russian Federation, Brazil, Chile, Ghana, and Mauritania.

Finally, Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT), gained 1.65% Wednesday.

The Board of Directors of Caterpillar, voted to enhance the quarterly cash dividend by 10 percent to seventy-seven cents ($0.77) per share of common stock, payable August 20, 2015, to stockholders of record at the close of business on July 20, 2015.

“This 10 percent dividend enhance is another example of our commitment to deliver superior returns to stockholders through the ups and downs of the industries we serve. Our strong balance sheet, cash flow and operational performance have put us in a position to reward stockholders with a higher dividend again this year,” said Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman. “The enhance is consistent with our cash deployment priorities – maintaining financial strength, funding growth, appropriately funding pension/benefit plans, paying dividends and repurchasing stock.

Since the starting of 2013, Caterpillar has returned more than $10 billion in capital to its stockholders through dividend payments and stock repurchases.

Caterpillar Inc. manufactures and sells construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives worldwide. The company’s Construction Industries segment offers backhoe, small wheel, skid steer, multi-terrain, compact track, medium and compact wheel, and track-type loaders; mini, wheel, and track excavators.
