Friday’s Trade News Buzz on: Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR), Energy Transfer Partners LP (NYSE:ETP), Alcobra Ltd (NASDAQ:ADHD), OvaScience Inc (NASDAQ:OVAS)

On Friday, Shares of Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR), lost -0.30% to $94.28.

Omnicare, declared that, for the period from June 15, 2015 to September 14, 2015, its Series A and Series B Trust Preferred Income Equity Redeemable Securities (NYSE:OCR.PRA and OCR.PRB) will, subject to the terms of the Trust PIERS, accrue contingent interest at a rate of 0.125% of the average trading price of the Trust PIERS for the five trading days ended June 11, 2015, in addition to the continued accrual of regular cash interest. As formerly declared, the Trust PIERS have accrued and paid contingent interest (ranging from $0.07 to $0.11 per $50 stated liquidation amount of Trust PIERS) for each quarterly interest period since June 2013.

Contingent cash interest, which Omnicare has determined to be about $0.145 per $50 stated liquidation amount of Trust PIERS for the current interest period, will be payable to holders of the Trust PIERS as of the record date of September 14, 2015. The payment of contingent cash interest is predictable to be made on September 15, 2015.

Omnicare, Inc. operates as a healthcare services company that specializes in the administration of pharmaceutical care in the United States. The company’s Long-Term Care Group segment offers pharmaceuticals, and related pharmacy and ancillary services to long-term care facilities; and chronic care facilities and other settings.

Shares of Energy Transfer Partners LP (NYSE:ETP), declined -0.73% to $53.17, during its last trading session.

Energy Transfer Partners, declared the pricing of $650 million aggregate principal amount of its 2.500% senior notes due 2018, $350 million aggregate principal amount of its 4.150% senior notes due 2020, $1.0 billion aggregate principal amount of its 4.750% senior notes due 2026 and $1.0 billion aggregate principal amount of its 6.125% senior notes due 2045, at a price to the public of 99.946%, 103.113% (plus accrued interest from April 1, 2015), 99.275% and 99.619%, respectively, of their face value. The senior notes due 2020 are being offered as additional notes under an indenture following which ETP issued $700 million aggregate principal amount of 4.150% senior notes due 2020 on September 19, 2013. These additional senior notes due 2020 and the existing senior notes due 2020 will be treated as a single series of securities under such indenture.

The sale of the senior notes is predictable to settle on June 23, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions. ETP intends to use the net proceeds of about $2.98 billion from this offering to repay borrowings outstanding under ETP’s revolving credit facility, to fund growth capital expenditures and for general partnership purposes.

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. engages in the natural gas midstream, and intrastate transportation and storage businesses in the United States. The company’s Intrastate Transportation and Storage segment transports natural gas from various natural gas producing areas, in addition to through its ET fuel system and HPL system.

At the end of Friday’s trade, Shares of Alcobra Ltd (NASDAQ:ADHD), lost -6.17% to $6.39.

Alcobra Ltd, stated that the company’s Phase 2 clinical trial of MDX (Metadoxine Extended Release) for the treatment of FXS did not meet the primary endpoint of change from baseline to week 6 of the inattentive subscale of the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Rating Scale (ADHD RS-IV). The difference between treatment groups was not statistically significant. However, MDX did achieve statistical significance, in the Intent-to-Treat (ITT) population, on two secondary endpoints, counting the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale (VABS) Daily Living Skills Domain (p=0.044), and the computerized cognitive Test of Attentional Performance for Children (KiTAP) Distractibility subscale (p=0.017). In the study, MDX was generally well tolerated and no safety concerns were identified.

“The combination of noteworthy improvements in adaptive behavior and cognition, obtained both by caregiver interview, and direct objective patient assessment, suggests a meaningful finding,” commented Elizabeth Berry Kravis, MD, PhD, Professor of Pediatrics, Neurological Sciences, and Biochemistry at Rush University Medical Center, and the Principal Investigator of the study. “Previous placebo-controlled trials in adolescent and adult patients with Fragile X have failed to demonstrate such an effect even after a longer treatment duration.”

Alcobra Ltd., a biopharmaceutical company, focuses on the development and commercialization of oral drug candidates. OvaScience, declared that physicians continue to report improvements in pregnancy rates and live births with the AUGMENTSM treatment in women with very poor prognoses, counting those with poor egg health and embryo quality. At a scientific symposium held during the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) annual meeting, fertility experts discussed the importance of egg health for improving patient care and shared their patients’ experiences using the AUGMENT treatment during in vitro fertilization (IVF). The AUGMENT treatment is not accessible in the United States.

Speaking from the conference, Michelle Dipp, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of OvaScience, said, “We were happy to host fertility specialists from more than forty countries at our scientific session, which focused on improving egg health and featured additional positive patient experiences with the AUGMENT treatment. The clinical pregnancy rates and live births stated by physicians using the AUGMENT treatment are encouraging, and we look forward to more patients having access to the treatment.”
