Ford started using a healthy dose of military-grade aluminum parts in the 2015 F-150, allowing it to shed 700 pounds and improve fuel efficiency and handling. The use of aluminum required new tools and processes, which were installed at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo as part of a $1.2 billion retooling project that comprised retooling for the new F-150 and production of the new Ford Transit van. Procter & Gamble broke ground Friday on a $500 million plant that will improve its access to East Coast customers and create hundreds of jobs as one of the largest economic development projects in West Virginia history, according to AP.
The Cincinnati-based consumer-goods company said the manufacturing hub near Martinsburg in the state’s Eastern Panhandle is eventually predictable to employ 700 full-time workers. The company said new site is within a day’s travel of nearly 80 percent of consumers in the eastern United States. The site is 80 miles from Washington, D.C.; 100 miles from Baltimore and 265 miles from New York City.
Procter & Gamble considered 70 locations for what will be the company’s fifth-largest U.S. workforce.

Cigarette maker Altria, which owns a 27 percent stake in SABMiller, has signaled it is open to considering a proposal, depending on the terms, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
SABMiller said on Wednesday it had been informed that AB InBev intended to make an offer which it would have to do by Oct. 14 under British rules.
