On Monday, Shares of Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA), lost -1.10% to $57.76.

Comcast Corporation, declared it has named Michael J. Cavanagh Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company. He will join Comcast early this summer from The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset manager, where he served as its Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer in New York. Preceding to Carlyle, Mr. Cavanagh spent almost 10 years as a member of the Operating Committee of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and served nearly six years as its CFO. He will be based at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia.

Comcast’s appointment of Mr. Cavanagh follows a national search for a CFO after the company declared it reached a contract with Vice Chairman and current CFO Michael J. Angelakis to establish a new, planned company that will focus on investing in and operating growth-oriented companies, both domestically and internationally.

Comcast Corporation operates as a media and technology company worldwide. It operates through Cable Communications, Cable Networks, Broadcast Television, Filmed Entertainment, and Theme Parks segments. The Cable Communications segment offers video, high-speed Internet, and voice services to residential and business customers under the XFINITY brand name.

Shares of Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE:UNP), declined -0.64% to $106.75, during its last trading session.

Union Pacific Corporation, declared the sale of 111 acres in Fremont, California to Lennar Homes of California, Inc. The Company will recognize a pre-tax gain of about $110 million in the second quarter of 2015 as a result of this transaction. Lennar intends to utilize the property for transit-oriented development, counting a mix of residential, office, retail, industrial, research and development, school, and park uses. The sale parcel is the largest property in Fremont’s new Warm Springs “innovation district” and is adjacent to BART’s new passenger station, planned to open in the fall of 2015.

Union Pacific Corporation, through its partner, Union Pacific Railroad Company, operates railroads in the United States. The company offers freight transportation services for agricultural products, counting grains, commodities produced from grains, and food and beverage products; automotive products, such as finished vehicles and automotive parts; and chemicals compriseing of industrial chemicals, plastics, crude oil, liquid petroleum gases, fertilizers, soda ash, sodium products, and phosphorus rock and sulfur products.

At the end of Monday’s trade, Shares of Hecla Mining Co. (NYSE:HL), gained 2.67% to $3.08.

Finally, ZIOPHARM Oncology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZIOP), ended its last trade with -1.47% loss, and closed at $10.75.

ZIOPHARM Oncology, declared the appointment of Laurence J. N. Cooper, M.D., Ph.D., to the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective right away. Dr. Cooper brings extensive experience in pioneering the development of adoptive cellular therapies in the field of oncology and translating immunology into clinical practice. He succeeds Jonathan Lewis, M.D., Ph.D., who will remain a member of the Company’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Cooper joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2006, where his appointments comprise tenured professor, Pediatrics and Immunology; Section Chief, Cell Therapy, Children’s Cancer Hospital; and Associate Director, Center for Cancer Immunology Research. He obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and then training in Pediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Dr. Cooper has received numerous awards and honors and in addition to numerous other professional appointments, he has authored more than 140 journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts.
