The most actively traded contract, for June delivery, fell $1.30, or 0.1%, to settle at $1,185.60 a troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. This was the lowest close since May 11, when prices settled at $1,183 a troy ounce.

Gold extended its losing streak to a fourth straight session as the dollar climbed against its rivals. Dollar-priced gold futures become more expensive for buyers who use other currencies when the dollar strengthens against their home currencies. WSJ Reports.

Yamana Gold Inc. engages in gold mining and related activities, counting exploration, extraction, processing, and reclamation. The company has precious metal properties and land positions in the Americas.

Canada’s main stock index was higher on Wednesday on modest gains in bank shares after Bank of Montreal and National Bank of Canada stated better-than-predictable earnings and declared dividend hikes, but the rise was limited by a drop in oil and gas shares.

The index’s financials group gained 0.4 percent, with National Bank up 0.9 percent at C$49.78. Bank of Montreal, however, slipped 0.4 percent to C$77.62.

Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), ended its last trade with 0.98% gain, and closed at $10.28.

Regions Financial Corporation, together with its auxiliaries, provides banking and bank-related services to individual and corporate customers in the United States. Its Corporate Bank segment offers commercial banking services, such as commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, and investor real estate lending, in addition to equipment lease financing services.
