Pre-Market News Analysis on: AT&T, (NYSE:T), Halliburton Company, (NYSE:HAL), Molycorp, (NYSE:MCP)

On Tuesday, Shares of AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T), gained 0.76% to $34.67.

AT&T, and the Center for Accessible Technology co-hosted a workshop for developers creating apps, software, and other technology to assist people with disabilities. During the workshop, developers connected with community members living with disabilities to learn about their challenges and the types of technology that would most benefit them. The session took place at the Center for Accessible Technology at Ed Roberts Campus in Berkeley, itself a landmark facility designed for universal access and named for a pioneer in the Bay Area independent living movement.

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, AT&T* and the Center for Accessible Technology in Berkeley are working with the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and New York University’s ABILITY Lab to find ways technology can enhance the lives of people with physical, social, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. To do this, they’re challenging developers in the Bay Area to take part in the first-ever Connect Ability tech innovation challenge. Developers are invited to design software, wearables and other technology solutions as part of this virtual challenge. On July 26th, $100,000 in prizes will be awarded to winning developer teams in a variety of categories.

AT&T Inc. provides telecommunications services in the United States and internationally. The company operates through two segments, Wireless and Wireline. The Wireless segment offers data and voice services, counting local, long-distance, and network access services, in addition to roaming services to youth, family, professionals, small businesses, government, and business customers.

Shares of Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL), declined -0.29% to $45.42, during its last trading session, despite U.S. crude prices rose on Tuesday as a tropical storm moved ashore in the oil-producing state of Texas, but global oversupply limited gains and pressured Brent futures.

Expectations that U.S. crude inventories fell again last week and strong RBOB gasoline futures also lent support, according to Reuters.

U.S. July crude rose 45 cents to settle at $59.97 a barrel, having swung from $59.42 to $60.37.

Brent front-month August crude fell 25 cents to settle at $63.70, off its $64.41 intraday peak and below Brent’s 50-day moving average of $64.01. Reuters Reports.

Halliburton Company provides a range of services and products to the upstream oil and natural gas industry worldwide. The company operates through two segments, Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation.

Finally, Molycorp, Inc. (NYSE:MCP), ended its last trade with 2.43% gain, and closed at $0.43.

On June 1, Molycorp declared that it has elected to take advantage of the 30-day grace period with respect to the $32.5 million semi-annual interest payment due June 1, 2015 on its 10% Senior Secured Notes due 2020, as offered for in the indenture governing the notes. This election by the Company will not trigger any cross-default provisions in other outstanding Company debt preceding to the end of the grace period and should not affect current operations. As formerly revealed, the Company has retained financial and legal advisors to assist the Company to restructure its debt. The Company will use the grace period to continue to evaluate different options related to such debt restructuring.

Molycorp, Inc. produces and sells rare earths and rare metal materials in the United States and internationally. The company’s Resources segment extracts rare earth minerals, counting light rare earth concentrates; rare earth oxides (REO), such as lanthanum, cerium, and neodymium-praseodymium; heavy rare earth concentrates, which comprise samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, and others; and SorbX and PhosFIX, a line of rare earth-based water treatment products.
