Pre-Market News Review: Intel Corporation, (NASDAQ:INTC), Himax Technologies, (NASDAQ:HIMX), Yamana Gold, (NYSE:AUY)

On Friday, Shares of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), lost -1.66% to $31.32.

Intel Capital, Intel Corporation’s global investment organization, recently declared the Intel Capital Diversity Fund, which will invest in technology startups run by women and underrepresented minorities. Also unveiled were the fund’s first investments in four companies led by inspiring trailblazers. The largest of its kind, the fund totals about $125 million, and investments will cover a broad spectrum of innovative industries.

“We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is fundamental to delivering business results,” said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. “Our aim with this new fund is to meaningfully support a technology startup workforce more reflective of society, and ultimately to benefit Intel and the broader economy through its success.”

Intel Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells integrated digital technology platforms worldwide. It operates through PC Client Group, Data Center Group, Internet of Things Group, Mobile and Communications Group, Software and Services, and All Other segments.

Shares of Himax Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:HIMX), inclined 7.22% to $8.17, during its last trading session.

Himax Technologies, declared that the Company will attend the Nomura Driver IC Corporate Day, which will be held on June 16, 2015.

The event will be held at Nomura’s Taipei office and will comprise three presenting companies with over 50 institutional investors participating from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Himax Technologies, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, provides display imaging processing technologies to consumer electronics worldwide. The company operates through Driver IC and Non-Driver Products segments. It offers display driver integrated circuits (ICs) and timing controllers used in televisions (TVs), laptops, monitors, mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, car navigation, and other consumer electronics devices.

Finally, Yamana Gold, Inc. (NYSE:AUY), ended its last trade flat, and closed at $3.24, as gold inched lower on Friday, shrugging off the slightly weaker dollar, lower equity markets and uncertainty over the Greek debt crisis, as traders were cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy-setting meeting this week.

Gold for August delivery, the most actively traded contract, was up 0.1% at $1,182.90 a troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to WSJ.

Yamana Gold Inc. engages in gold mining and related activities, counting exploration, extraction, processing, and reclamation. The company has precious metal properties and land positions in the Americas.
