Statoil (STO) delivered Adjusted earnings of NOK 22.4 billion and adjusted earnings after tax of NOK 7.2 billion in the second quarter. Statoil stated Net income in accordance with IFRS of NOK 10.1 billion, counting gains from divestments.

Xilinx, Inc. (XLNX) declared its partnership with China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) for the development of the next generation fronthaul interface (NGFI) in an MOU signing ceremony during the China Mobile Research Institute hosted NGFI Workshop. With the advent of 5G wideband multi-antenna systems, Xilinx and CMRI are working together to research the key technologies and components of a new fronthaul interface for wireless networks, in conjunction with emerging technologies such as C-RAN, large-scale-antenna-system, and 3D MIMO.

In current wireless systems, the bandwidth of CPRI has raised rapidly and requires more and more fiber cables to be laid by the operators. This is costly and very challenging for the centralized baseband architecture, which is the trend for future wireless networks. The fronthaul link, between the baseband and radio units, is a critical subsystem for improvement. Xilinx All Programmable devices and design environments will serve as an important enabler for this interface and future wireless systems.

At the end of Tuesday’s trade, Waste Administration, Inc. (NYSE:WM)‘s shares surged 2.24% to $50.16.

Waste Administration, Inc. (WM) declared financial results for its quarter ended June 30, 2015. Revenues for the second quarter of 2015 were $3.32 billion contrast with $3.56 billion for the same 2014 period. Net income for the quarter was $274 million, or $0.60 per diluted share, contrast with net income of $210 million, or $0.45 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2014. On an as-adjusted basis, not taking into account certain items, net income was $306 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2015, contrast with $270 million, or $0.58 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2014.(b)

The Company’s second quarter 2014 results have been adjusted to exclude a negative impact of $0.15 per diluted share, primarily related to the divestiture of operations in Puerto Rico, and the earnings from businesses and assets divested in 2014, which contributed $0.02 per diluted share to earnings in the second quarter of 2014.(b)

Waste Administration, Inc., through its auxiliaries, provides various waste administration environmental services to residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers in North America. It offer collection services, counting picking up and transporting waste and recyclable materials from where it was generated to a transfer station, and material recovery facility, or disposal site, in addition to develops and operates landfill gas-to-energy facilities in the United States.

Manitowoc Company Inc (NYSE:MTW), ended its Tuesdays trading session with 2.28% gain, and closed at $16.84.
