Shares of Jarden Corp. (NYSE:JAH), inclined 3.68% to $50.09, during its last trading session, as the company enters merger negotiations with rival Newell Rubbermaid (NWL), sources told The Wall Street Journal.
Should a deal be reached, the combined company would have about $14 billion in annual sales, according to the Journal.
Jarden has a market capitalization of roughly $10.5 billion, whereas Newell Rubbermaid is valued at $12 billion. If Newell Rubbermaid were to acquire Jarden, the company would be valued around $13 billion at a minimum, the Journal reports.
