Leveraging actionable data and clinical experience from its Therapeutic Resource Centers®, Express Scripts works collaboratively with each pharmacy participating in the two-phase Quality Network Program to review and improve their patients’ performance in five key areas: reducing the use of high-risk medications, compliance with diabetes treatment guidelines (use of high blood pressure therapy in diabetes patients), and greater adherence to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol medications.

Phase I, accomplished in 2014, involved reporting and the “Sentinel Effect,” which is the tendency for improvement as a result of observation, to establish performance benchmarks. Phase II, which began in January, involves quality incentive rewards with more than 1,000 participating chains and independent pharmacies in southern California and Arizona, SCAN Health Plan’s market. In early 2016, top-performing and improved pharmacies will receive incentives, while average or poorly performing pharmacies will receive lower overall reimbursements.

Express Scripts Holding Company operates as a pharmacy benefit administration (PBM) company in the United States and Canada. The company operates through two segments, PBM and Other Business Operations.

At the end of Tuesday’s trade, Shares of Weight Watchers International, Inc. (NYSE:WTW), dipped -3.19% to $8.19.

  • Q1 2015 earnings per fully diluted share (EPS) was a loss of $0.10; not taking into account the $0.06 per fully diluted share impact of restructuring charges and the $0.05 per fully diluted share benefit from the early extinguishment of debt, Q1 2015 adjusted EPS was a loss of $0.09.
  • The Company maintained full year fiscal 2015 earnings guidance of between $0.40 and $0.70 per fully diluted share.

Weight Watchers International, Inc. provides weight administration services worldwide. The company operates through North America, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and Other segments. It offers a range of products and services comprising nutritional, exercise, and behavioral tools and approaches.
