First Quarter 2015 Highlights

  • Total Revenue raised by 1.8% year-on-year to $123.5 million for the three months ended March 31, 2015. Revenue from e-commerce services raised by 75.2% year-on-year to $51.5 million for the three months ended March 31, 2015.
  • Operating income reduced by 84.9% year-on-year to $7.5 million for the three months ended March 31, 2015. Non-GAAP operating income reduced by 84.5% year-on-year to $7.9 million for the three months ended March 31, 2015.   • Net income attributable to SouFun’s shareholders reduced by 85.3% year-on-year to $6.1 million for the three months ended March 31, 2015.

SouFun Holdings Limited operates a real estate Internet portal, and home furnishing and improvement Websites in the People’s Republic of China. The company offers marketing services on its Websites, primarily through advertisements to real estate developers in the marketing phase of new property developments, in addition to to real estate agencies; and suppliers of home furnishing and improvement, and other home-related products and services.

Johnson & Johnson, will pay $7.8 million to settle the state of Arkansas’s claims the company illegally marketed its Risperdal antipsychotic medicine, a case that featured a billion-dollar award against the drugmaker that was thrown out, according to Bloomberg.

The settlement, less than 1 percent of the $1.2 billion fine imposed by an Arkansas judge, closes the book on almost eight years of legal jousting over allegations J&J misled doctors and patients about Risperdal’s effectiveness and downplayed its diabetes risks. An appeals court threw out the fines last year, and the state dropped its case Thursday as part of the accord.

The settlement comes as J&J continues to face side-effect claims over Risperdal, counting suits by young males who blame the drug for causing them to develop breasts like women’s. The next case is slated for May 26 in state court in Philadelphia. Bloomberg Reports.

At the end of Thursday’s trade, Shares of BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ:BBRY), gained 1.58% to $10.27.

BlackBerry Limited, declared that its Board of Directors has authorized a share repurchase program to purchase for cancellation up to 12 million BlackBerry common shares, or about 2.6% of the outstanding public float. BlackBerry can purchase the common shares over the Nasdaq Stock Market or, subject to regulatory approval, on the Toronto Stock Exchange or other markets. In the past 12 months, BlackBerry has not repurchased any of its outstanding securities.

At its annual meeting of shareholders on June 23, 2015, BlackBerry will present for approval a new employee share purchase plan and a projected enhance in the number of shares accessible under BlackBerry’s equity incentive plan. If these proposals are approved by shareholders at the meeting, BlackBerry will file a notice of intention to commence a normal course issuer bid with the TSX. The share repurchase program would remain in place for up to 12 months from acceptance of the notice of intention by the TSX, or such earlier time as the purchases are accomplished or the program is terminated by BlackBerry. If the proposals are not approved by shareholders, BlackBerry does not expect that it will proceed with the share repurchase program.

Adobe also conducted a complementary survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers who plan to travel this summer.
