On Wednesday, Shares of SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE:SUNE), gained 4.77% to $9.22, hitting its lowest level.
SunEdison declared that it has accomplished construction of a 6 megawatt (MW) AC solar power plant that will supply electricity to Lakeland Electric, the third largest public power utility in the State of Florida, through a 25-year power purchase agreement.
The Bella Vista solar power plant is predictable to generate about 14 gigawatt-hours of electricity each year, enough to power more than 1,300 homes and avoid the emission of 21 million pounds of carbon dioxide, the equivalent to removing more than 2,000 cars from the road.
In addition to the 6 MW Bella Vista solar power plant, SunEdison has accomplished three other projects for Lakeland Electric and is developing two more. The total solar power capacity of the portfolio under the Master Agreement is predictable to be 24 MW.

Shares of Exelon Corporation (NYSE:EXC), inclined 3.42% to $31.44, during its last trading session.
Constellation declared that it is accepting applications for its 2015 E2 Energy to Educate Grants program. Since its inception in 2010, the program has offered over $1.8 million in funding for student projects that have improved the understanding of energy-related science and technology issues for an estimated 88,000 students.
Students in grades six through 12 can apply for program grants up to $25,000; students in two- and four-year colleges can apply for up to $50,000. Applications are now being accepted, and the deadline for submissions is Oct. 1, 2015.
“Education and creativity are essential for developing the solutions required to create a greener energy future,” said Joseph Nigro, CEO of Constellation. “We’re proud to support research and education programs that assist prepare students for the energy opportunities that lie ahead and to build the science, math and technology skills they need to be successful in any career.”
In 2014, the program awarded $340,000 and reached nearly 7,000 students nationwide. The student projects comprised developing demand response technologies, model electric vehicle competitions, renewable energy and energy efficiency analysis, and many other topics.

Finally, Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:RJET), ended its last trade with -36.72% decline, and closed at $2.12, hitting its lowest level.
The Teamsters group representing pilots at Republic Airways is balking at allowing a vote on the company’s contract offer, deepening the rift between labor and administration at the regional airline, according to AP.
Republic has threatened to start a restructuring process if pilots don’t approve the proposal it offered last week, which it termed its last and best offer. AP Reports
Jim Clark, the president of Teamsters Local 357, said the group’s leaders opposed a ratification vote because Republic changed language that had been agreed upon during bargaining and added provisions that improperly limited communication between the union and its pilots. He said the Teamsters national organization could override the local and order a ratification vote.
Republic vice president of human resources Matthew Koscal said pilots deserve the chance to vote on the company offer. Republic operates regional flights for bigger airlines counting American, Delta and United. It has about 2,100 pilots. AP added.
Republic Airways Holdings Inc., through its auxiliaries, provides planned passenger services. The company offers planned passenger service on about 1,229 flights daily to about 101 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
