And on Wednesday, the Sudanese army confirmed that former President Omar al-Bashir is still being held at the Aliya army hospital under the protection of the judicial police.

“The position of the armed forces on this issue will remain clear, consisting in the categorical rejection of any desperate attempts to link what is happening in prisons with any stake on their national position,” the army said in a statement attributed to the office. the official representative of the armed forces, which was published by the General Command on his Facebook account.

He explained that Al-Bashir and others were taken to the hospital “due to their state of health and in accordance with the recommendations of the medical authorities of the Kober prison.”

On Tuesday, Sudanese media quoted leaders of the Bashir regime being held at Kober prison in a joint statement that they had made the decision to defend themselves after “leaving” the prison.

The joint statement, which was read by Ahmed Haroun, the former governor of North Kordofan state and a former official of the Bashir regime, said they were “ready to surrender to the judicial authorities upon request.”

Haroon explained that they “moved to another place” outside the prison, noting that all the prisoners “came out” last Sunday.

On Sunday, the Rapid Support Forces accused the army leadership of carrying out a forced evacuation of all prisoners from the Kober prison, including leaders of the Bashir regime.

However, an army statement on Wednesday said the military is releasing these clarifications “to block pretexts and prevent more misinformation that some rebel media is promoting to confuse people,” referring to the Rapid Support Forces.
