Today, Sunday, Taiwan’s defense ministry said its military was tracking 70 Chinese army aircraft approaching the island as part of a second day of military exercises.
The statement stated that “by 16:00 local time (11:00 Moscow time) the approach of 70 aircraft of the Chinese army, strategic bombers J-10, J-11, J-16, H-6 and military airplane”. Y-20 and others, as well as 11 Chinese ships from the Taiwan Strait.”
In a statement, the ministry said 35 aircraft crossed the so-called median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the island’s air defense zone.
And the Taiwan Ministry of Defense previously reported that at about 12:00 local time (7:00 Moscow time) 58 aircraft and 9 ships belonging to the Chinese army approached the island.
Yesterday, Saturday, Chinese army spokesman Shi Yen announced that Chinese forces will begin a 3-day military exercise from April 8 to 10, during which they will carry out maneuvers, sea and air patrols into the Taiwan Strait.
Shi Yin called the exercise a “stern warning” to “separatist forces” and a necessary measure to protect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while Taiwan believes the exercise threatens regional stability and security.
