A 46% Decrease in Coronavirus Fatalities on a Global Scale: Global Health Update

The World Health Organization reported that the number of deaths from coronavirus decreased by 46% compared to the previous 28 days, and the number of infections decreased by 31%.

According to the organization, during the period from February 20 to March 19 of this year, more than 3.7 million people were infected with coronavirus in the world, more than 26 thousand died.

According to a WHO fact sheet, there were 3,738,575 cases and 26,147 deaths worldwide in four weeks.

In 28 days, most of the 792,202 cases in the US were identified. This is followed by Russia (339,564), China (320,029), Japan (291,672) and Germany (281,468).

The United States recorded the highest number of deaths from February 20 to March 19, with 8,187, followed by the UK (2,474), Japan (1,898), Brazil (1,587) and China (1,472).

As of March 21, WHO has received reports of 761,071,826 cases of coronavirus infection since the beginning of the pandemic and 6,879,677 deaths.
