The survey, conducted by healthcare data provider SERMO Intelligence, queried 150 hospital decision makers on supply chain issues. Results revealed that the majority of respondents are taking some action to improve their supply chain, agreeing that it will reduce costs. However, few hospital decision makers are confident in their supply chains’ overall effectiveness recently.

Only one-third of hospital decision makers rate the administration of their hospital’s overall supply chain as “very effective,” according to the survey.2 Yet, two-thirds “strongly agree” that improving the effectiveness of their supply chain will reduce overall costs, improvement revenue and lead to better quality of care.3,4,5 In fact, 85 percent of respondents surveyed said their health systems are presently working to identify or implement new ways to reduce supply chain waste and related costs.

Rack space, declared that technology industry veteran and proven sales leader Alex Pinchev has joined the company as executive vice president and president of global sales and marketing. Effective January 1, Pinchev will oversee Rackspace’s sales and marketing organizations and drive company growth as the leader in managed cloud services.

Pinchev brings more than 30 years of technology industry experience to Rackspace. From 2003 to 2012, he led sales, services and marketing at Red Hat, and assisted improvement the company’s revenue tenfold to more than $1 billion. While at Red Hat, Pinchev built key relationships with many Fortune 1000 companies and launched a global partner network with major original equipment manufacturers, value added resellers, independent software vendors and system integrators.

After leaving Red Hat, Pinchev served as president and CEO of Acronis, a leader in data protection and disaster recovery software. He was most recently CEO of Capri Ventures, which assists technology start-ups develop go-to-market strategies, sales scalability and business modeling to accelerate growth.

Rack space Hosting, Inc., through its auxiliaries, provides cloud computing services and managing Web-based IT systems for small and medium-sized businesses and large enterprises worldwide. The company’s service offering combines hosting on dedicated hardware and on multi-tenant pools of virtualized hardware in a way that suits each customer’s requirements.
