Active Stocks News Buzz: Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC), Progressive Corp. (NYSE:PGR), Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SBGI)

On Thursday, Shares of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC), gained 0.45% to $55.50.

A new survey from Wells Fargo & Company of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Americans sheds light on how marriage equality is shaping the attitudes, behaviors, and conversations of same-sex couples related to money and planning for their future. The majority of LGBT Americans surveyed (86%) say that marriage-equality will improve the financial lives of same-sex couples, with 50% citing financial security and benefits as a top reason for wanting to get married ( love and commitment tops the list at 86%).

Wells Fargo & Company provides retail, commercial, and corporate banking services to individuals, businesses, and institutions. The Progressive Corporation, 2014 motorcycle claims data revealed that:

  • Four of the top 10 days with the highest claims for Progressive motorcycle customers fall in June.
  • Summer months – June, July and August – are when most motorcycle accidents happen, and Saturdays are the most dangerous days to ride. In fact, the top five days of the year with the most motorcycle claims are all Saturdays throughout the summer.
  • July is one of the most dangerous months for motorcycle riders, with the average number of claims being 79 percent higher in that month than the average for the rest of the year.
  • In 2014, there were more single-vehicle motorcycle claims than any other type. Progressive data shows there were more single-vehicle claims than the next three types put together which comprise rear-end accidents, intersection accidents and stolen motorcycles.

Finally, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SBGI), ended its last trade with 2.13% gain, and closed at $28.09.

The CW Network and Sinclair Broadcast Group, “Sinclair,” have declared long-term affiliation renewals for stations covering 23 Sinclair owned and/or operated markets across the country. At the same time, The CW is renewing nine affiliation agreements with stations for which Sinclair provides sales and other services.

Sinclair’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Barry Faber, who oversees Sinclair’s relationships with its networks, stated, “The CW Network has been successful in broadening their audience and in creating programs with a loyal and passionate fan base. As the group with the most CW stations, we are happy to continue our relationship with the Network.”
