Active Stocks Roundup: Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD), Hologic Inc. (NASDAQ:HOLX), , Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ:CGNX)

On Tuesday, Shares of Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD), gained 2.83% to $9.08, hitting its highest level.

RediClinic declared donations totaling $40,000 to eight YMCAs serving the greater Baltimore/Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Seattle areas. RediClinic, which opened convenient care clinics inside select Rite Aid pharmacies in each market earlier this year, is making the donation as part of its continued commitment to the health and well-being of the communities they serve.

Each YMCA will use the donation to support various programs that will benefit the health and wellbeing of children in its communities throughout the year. RediClinic will present each of the eight YMCAs with a check for $5,000 during a series of special in-store events this week.

In the greater Baltimore area, RediClinic will donate $5,000 to YMCA of Central Maryland; in Philadelphia, Central Bucks Family YMCA, Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County, Lower Bucks Family YMCA and Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA; in greater Seattle, YMCA of Greater Seattle and YMCA of Snohomish County; and in Washington D.C., YMCA of Metropolitan Washington.

RediClinic is a wholly owned partner of the Rite Aid Corporation.

Rite Aid Corporation, through its auxiliaries, operates a chain of retail drugstores in the United States. The company sells prescription drugs and a range of other merchandise, counting over-the-counter medications, health and beauty aids, personal care items, cosmetics, household items, food and beverages, greeting cards, seasonal merchandise, and other every day and convenience products.

Shares of Hologic Inc. (NASDAQ:HOLX), declined -0.43% to $41.39, during its last trading session.

Hologic declared that the Company will present at the Canaccord Genuity Growth Conference in Boston on Wednesday, August 12 at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and the Morgan Stanley Global Healthcare Conference in New York on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:40 a.m. ET.

Hologic, Inc. develops, manufactures, and supplies diagnostics products, medical imaging systems, and surgical products for women in the United States and internationally. The company operates in four segments: Diagnostics, Breast Health, GYN Surgical, and Skeletal Health.

Finally, Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ:CGNX), ended its last trade with -22.14% loss, and closed at $35, hitting its lowest level.

 

Cognex Corporation declared its results for the second quarter of 2015. In Table 1 below, selected financial data for the quarter and six months ended July 5, 2015 is contrast to the first quarter of 2015, second quarter of 2014 and the first six months of 2014.

Sale of Cognex’s Surface Inspection Systems Division

Cognex sold its Surface Inspection Systems Division (SISD) on July 6, 2015 in order to focus all of its efforts on discrete manufacturing where the company sees stronger long-term growth opportunities. Revenue from SISD was $11.2 million in Q2 2015. If SISD’s results had not been stated as a suspended operation pending divestiture, our revenue for Q2 2015 would have been $155 million, as contrast to the guidance that was given on May 4, 2015 of $152 million to $157 million.

The “Details of the Quarter” DISCUSSED below excludes the financial results of SISD. For a historical perspective, Exhibit 4 comprises Cognex’s quarterly Statement of Operations for 2014 with the results of SISD stated as a suspended operation.

Cognex Corporation provides machine vision products that capture and analyze visual information in order to automate tasks primarily in manufacturing processes. It operates in two divisions, Modular Vision Systems and Surface Inspection Systems.
