Adana, Turkey Struck by Devastating Earthquake

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported today, Tuesday, that an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit the southern province of Adana.

AFAD reported that the shock occurred at 8:44 local time, with an epicenter in the Kozan region, at a depth of 11 km.

Losses are not reported.

It is noteworthy that since two earthquakes in the Kahramanmaras region last February, which killed more than 51,000 people and injured 120,000, earthquakes have become a frequent occurrence in Turkey, the last of which was an earthquake on Friday in Kahramanmaras, and another on Saturday in the province of Malatya.
