He also signaled that the Rapid Support Forces would take over the responsibility of the civilian government, indicating that any negotiations with the army would be conditional on the completion of the democratic transition.
Evacuation continues
The ceasefire announcement comes as the evacuation of foreign nationals from the country continues after many Arab and Western countries called for the withdrawal of their citizens by sea, land and air.
The internal movement of thousands of Sudanese from Khartoum continues to other less stressed states.
Cautious calm
The announcement also follows the Eid al-Adha truce that began two days ago in Sudan, in its last hours, as the Sudanese capital witnessed a cautious lull and a decrease in the intensity of clashes between the army today, Monday. and Rapid Support Forces.
Efforts to evacuate foreign nationals from Sudan in recent hours have disappointed many Sudanese, who felt that the two rival factions showed little concern for their safety.

Notably, these battles between the army led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo broke out in Khartoum and other parts of the country on April 15, four years after the overthrow of Omar Al-Bashir during a popular uprising in 2019 year.
The two sides of the conflict shared power for about 3 years before they recently parted ways during negotiations over a plan to form a civilian government and integrate the Rapid Support Forces into the armed forces.
