Ahsoka: A Now Cult and Multifaceted Character
Ahsoka Tano is not just an ordinary character. Although physically absent from the Star Wars films, she has gained great importance through the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she serves as the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker before he turns to the dark side. However, Ahsoka eventually leaves the Jedi Order to fight her own battles and try to live a normal life after experiencing a dark attack. Along her journey, she encounters Anakin and Obi-Wan multiple times, but it is only more than 10 years after Order 66 is executed that she discovers the true identity of the Dark Lord of the Sith, who is in the service of Emperor Palpatine.
At the point we left her, Ahsoka was embarking on a mission with Sabine Wren to find Ezra Bridger, a Jedi apprentice who disappeared after a battle. Although we hear his voice in The Rise of Skywalker, it is under the guidance of Dave Filoni that Ahsoka’s character takes on a new dimension. Filoni believes that Ahsoka can exist in all forms of media related to Star Wars, opening up endless possibilities. Actress Rosario Dawson expresses her interest in playing Ahsoka in a movie, and eventually gets chosen to portray the character in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Later, Ahsoka appears in The Book of Boba Fett, and it is announced that an entire series will be dedicated to her. After much anticipation and speculation, the first two episodes of Ahsoka premiered on August 24th on Disney+.
In this series, the former apprentice, who previously attempted to train Sabine Wren, learns that the New Republic has been attacked by two Force users wielding lightsabers. Ahsoka is searching for an artifact that could lead her to Grand Admiral Thrawn, whom she has faced before, as well as her former companion, Ezra Bridger. She decides to seek help from Sabine Wren, who excels at solving riddles and puzzles. The first two episodes have generally been well received, although some viewers have criticized the lack of depth and the difficulty in following the fight scenes and pacing. However, it is important to note that these opinions are based on only two out of the eight total episodes, and it is likely that the story will unfold in an exciting way as the series progresses.
Rosario Dawson Talks About the Series… Maybe a Little Too Much!
Meanwhile, Rosario Dawson appears to be eager for audiences to discover the upcoming episodes. In fact, she inadvertently reveals certain significant elements of the fourth episode, which is scheduled to air on September 7th. We previously warned about the risk of spoilers at the beginning of this article, so if you want to avoid them, now is the time to leave. But for those who are curious about what the actress playing Ahsoka has to say, let’s dive in. During an interview with D23, the official site for Disney fans, Dawson let slip a few tantalizing details, including her favorite scene, which takes place in the fourth episode:
This is not the first time that Rosario Dawson, who seems to have a penchant for spoilers like Tom Holland, has made a small slip-up. In 2021, she announced on Instagram that Hayden Christensen would be returning as Anakin. LucasFilm promptly asked her to remove the post, but as we know, the Internet never forgets. In the meantime, let’s reconvene next Wednesday for the third episode.
