Today, Sunday, the Saudi channel Al-Ekhbariya reported that the Al-Ittihad Jeddah club has reached an official agreement to include the French star Karim Benzema, who will leave Real Madrid at the end of the current season.
According to the source, the contract between the national team of Saudi Arabia and the 35-year-old player will be extended for two seasons.
Real Madrid announced on Sunday that captain and top scorer Benzema will leave the club at the end of the current season after 14 seasons in the ranks.
And Spanish newspapers have previously reported that Benzema has received an offer from Saudi Arabia worth 200 million euros over two years to bring him into the local league, where his former Real Madrid teammate Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
It should be noted that Al-Ittihad Jeddah won the Saudi Arabian Championship last season at the expense of Ronaldo’s Al-Nasr club.
