A CNN poll showed that more than half of Americans oppose additional aid to Ukraine from the US Congress.

According to the poll, 55% of respondents said that no additional aid should be given to the Kyiv government, with 45% of those polled in favor of providing funding, and 51% of Americans believe that the US has done enough for Ukraine.

At the same time, the majority of respondents (which is 78%) answered that the type of support that Kiev needs is assistance in the collection of intelligence information, and 53% of them chose assistance in the military training of the Ukrainian army. Only 17% of respondents believe that the participation of the US armed forces in the conflict is necessary.

It is noteworthy that the survey was conducted from July 1 to July 31 among 1279 US citizens with an estimated margin of error of 3.7 degrees.

On August 1, Politico reported that Washington could announce another military aid package for Kyiv early next week.

The latest military assistance package for Ukraine, provided by the administration of US President Joe Biden, included “additional air defense systems, artillery and other weapons in addition to armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons” worth $400 million.

For his part, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said on July 25 that the actions of Washington, which continues to pump weapons to its Ukrainian clients, go beyond morality and common sense.

The diplomat noted that the United States is trying to present itself as an honest benefactor of Ukraine and manipulate public opinion, hiding the true goals of its policy.
