Apple has announced that more than 250 suppliers will switch to renewable energy for all Apple production by 2030. Apple’s manufacturing partners now support approximately 13 gigawatts of renewable electricity, an increase of roughly 30 percent compared to the previous year.
Apple has reaffirmed its dedication to achieving carbon neutrality for every product it manufactures by 2030. The company has announced that it will invest $4.7 billion in Green Bonds to support the global expansion of clean energy solutions and efforts to reduce emissions.
“At Apple, we are carbon neutral for our operations and innovating every day to go even further in the urgent effort to address climate change,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “The work we are doing to address climate change is urgent.” “Along with our partners worldwide, we are increasing the amount of renewable energy that powers our global supply chain and investing in green technologies of the future generation. The magnitude of this obstacle is enormous, but so is our will to rise to the occasion and take it on.”
