The head of the mission, archaeologist Mirela Ganuza, indicates that this mummy was found in an ongoing excavation in the residential area of Miraflores in the capital Lima, where the pyramid of Huaca Bocliana is being excavated. The mummy was found surrounded by ancient pots made of ceramics, textiles, and other things.
Description
“This is the mummy of an adult sitting with bent legs,” she says. And he adds: “We found long hair on the head of the mummy and a completely intact jaw. This person most likely lived during the period of civilization that arose on the shores of modern Peru about a thousand years ago.
