The Transitional Council in Niger announced that it has collected evidence for the trial of ousted President Mohamed Bazum and his associates on charges of treason and endangering state security, revealing information about his state of health.

According to our correspondent, the Transitional Council confirmed in a statement that the evidence against Bazum came from his contacts with Nigerian citizens, foreign heads of state and representatives of international organizations.

The Transitional Council indicated that a disinformation campaign was underway to justify military intervention in Niger, stressing that the armed forces were taking all necessary precautions to counter the unfair sanctions imposed on Niger.

On the other hand, the council found that the deposed president’s doctor visited him periodically, and he and his family members did not notice any health symptoms, emphasizing that Bazum still uses all means of communication, and the army did not enter his residence. .

In this context, the Transitional Council underlined its respect for the law and Niger’s obligations regarding the treatment of detainees, which are one of the pillars of the lockdown.
