Belarus accuses Poland and Lithuania of preparing militants for coup d’etat

The Allegations

The Security Council of Belarus stated that Poland and Lithuania are preparing militants for a coup d\’état in Belarus.
This comes at a time when tensions are rising between the three border countries, especially after the transfer of Commander Wagner to Belarus.

And the State Security Committee of Belarus announced the presence of foreign intelligence officers on the territory of Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic States, in order to train militants as part of a plan to seize power by force in Belarus.

Details of the Plan

This was stated by the deputy head of the investigation department of the commission Konstantin Pechik on the air of the Belarus-1 channel, noting that “The State Security Committee knows these (militants undergoing training) and knows the identity of the intelligence officers. officers who train them. is aware of the money that finances their terrorist activities under plausible pretexts.

Pechik revealed that the training of these militants is carried out on the basis of special forces and armed formations.

He added: “After completing basic training, the militants are tested on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine, after which they return, undergo training, prepare terrorist attacks, develop plans for an armed invasion of the territory of the Republic of Belarus, including with the support of the regular armies of those countries that deploy them. \”.

Belarusian Security Service Response

Pechik stressed that the Belarusian security service has the ability to \”eliminate this threat in a timely manner.\” \”The fugitive terrorists and the collective West behind them have no chance.\”

Russian Wagner Group Involvement

Earlier, the leader of the Russian Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, commented on Lithuania\’s increased protection of the border with Belarus, saying that he had not yet reached Minsk and, in his words, terror had begun in European countries.

Prigozhin on his Telegram page also reprinted the statements of the President of Lithuania, in which he called for strengthening the eastern wing of NATO after it was decided that the Wagner commander would go to Belarus.

Prigozhin indicated that these measures would not have taken place without his move to Belarus.

Notably, Prigozhin\’s whereabouts after leaving Rostov on Saturday are unknown until now, while the Kremlin\’s statement said he was on his way to Belarus.

The armed uprising that occupied the world, led by Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, ceased after the latter\’s decision to leave Russia through the mediation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

International Response

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda considered that NATO would have to “strengthen” its eastern wing if Belarus hosted Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the Russian armed group Wagner.

Lying on the Baltic Sea, Lithuania shares borders with both Russia and Belarus and will host a NATO summit next month.
