Introduction

Last January, a court in England acquitted Mendy of 7 of the 9 rape charges against him as it resulted in his suspension from Manchester City and the suspension of all money and wages he received.

According to the British radio BBC, the court presented the facts of two cases in which the Manchester City star is accused, on the sidelines of some of the parties he organized at his home.

Attempted Rape Incident

In the second case, involving an attempted rape, the court stated that Mindy refused to rape the victim after finding her to be “shy” and established relationships with 10,000 women.

Expensive Signing and Career Marred by Injuries

City spent £52m (€60m) to sign Mendy in 2017 after he caught the attention of Marseille and spent one season at Monaco, making him the most expensive defender in history at the time. However, his playing career has been marred by injuries, such as an ACL tear in 2017, forcing him to spend more time treating his knees and muscle problems.

Lamborghini Incident and Legal Troubles

Mendy, who won the 2018 World Cup with his country in Russia, also became rich material for the British media in the fall of 2020, when his Lamborghini, worth more than 500 thousand euros, which he drove without a license and insurance, was stolen and confiscated. He pleaded guilty and was fined around 1,000 euros.

Contract with Manchester City
