US President Joe Biden, during a conversation with reporters, said that he was aware of the dismissal of Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, but refrained from public comments on this news.
While in Delaware Sunday, Biden said he knew Zelensky had replaced his secretary of defense. Asked if he had any comments, Biden replied, “Not publicly.”
Earlier on Sunday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had decided to dismiss Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov from his post and appoint Rustam Umarov in his place.
In turn, the speaker of the Crimean parliament Vladimir Konstantinov said that the resignation of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov is connected with the failure of the “counterattack” of the Ukrainian forces.
And the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on June 4, when Kiev deployed trained NATO brigades and brought in Western weapons, including Leopard tanks widely deployed on the battlefield, and then fired at the burning military equipment in the square. The battle caused a wide resonance in the West.
