The agreement on the export of grain and fertilizers through safe passages in the Black Sea expires tomorrow, Thursday, May 18, after it was extended by sixty days in March last year.
The Russian side says that in order to extend it, it is necessary to fulfill the second part of the agreement regarding the direct export of Russian grain and fertilizers through the Black Sea.
Ankara agrees with Moscow in this position, and emphasizes that the part of this agreement that concerns Russia should be implemented, which has not happened so far, except for their agreement – Ankara and Moscow – on the need to export grain and fertilizers to reach poor countries who really need them, which is the main purpose of the agreement.
