Introduction

Borussia Dortmund announced today, Monday, the signing of a three-year contract with Bayern Munich and Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.

Contract Details

A statement posted on Borussia Dortmund’s website says the 29-year-old has successfully completed a medical and signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2027.

Career Background

Sabitzer started his professional career in Austria with Admira Faaker (2010–2013), then Rapid Wien (2013–2014) before moving to the German Bundesliga in 2014 to defend Leipzig’s colors until 2021.

Sabitzer, who played a season on loan at Salzburg (2014-2015), moved to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2021.

The Bavarian club loaned him to Manchester United last February, where he played 18 matches with him in all competitions before suffering an injury in May.

Sabitzer played 71 international matches for the Austrian national team.
