The European group announced that Airbus Helicopters has signed a major contract with Chinese leasing company JDAT for the sale of fifty new H-160 multi-role helicopters.
The contract was signed during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to China.
This contract, the cost of which was not disclosed, is the largest since the start of sales of these helicopters in 2015, as almost 100 units have been sold so far.
And according to Airbus Helicopters, these helicopters will be used to transport personnel to oil and gas platforms and offshore wind farms, as well as for emergency medical care and other missions that are part of the public service.
The statement quoted company director Bruno Even as saying: “The H-160 was designed from the outset as a multi-role helicopter and is therefore well suited to the various sectors served by the leasing company.”
“We see a lot of potential for the H160 in China, especially in the energy sector,” said Peter Jiang, director of JDIT.
The twin-engine H-160 helicopter has a good payload capacity, as it is capable of carrying 12 people, in addition to two pilots, over a distance of approximately 880 km.
This helicopter has curved blades to reduce noise, a streamlined cockpit and improved flight safety.
