Christopher Nolan meets the Chinese public

While most countries have returned to their normal routines, some nations have taken longer to fully reopen their borders. According to reports, Hollywood directors used to travel the world to promote their films, and visiting China was a must. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed that, resulting in closed borders and little willingness to deviate from established policies. But things have changed now…

As reported by the local daily, Global Times, the director of Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan, recently visited China. Just like in the old days, he had the opportunity to meet the public, sign autographs, and attend the premiere of his film at the IMAX CityWalk cinema in Beijing. He also made a stopover in Shanghai for additional screenings and meetings with his fans. What makes this event significant is that Christopher Nolan is the first Hollywood filmmaker to visit China since the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Ben Weathley had a similar privilege recently, it was for the co-production Meg 2: The Trench, which is a Chinese film.

Nolan on everyone’s mind?
