Clashes in Chisinau: Police and Demonstrators Face Off

Violent clashes erupted between demonstrators and police during a mass march that marched through the streets of the Moldovan capital Chisinau to protest high prices for food, fuel and various services.

And in a video circulating, police brigades are seen blocking the road in front of demonstrators heading towards the city’s main square, chanting the slogan “Down with the dictatorship.”

The demonstrators managed to bypass the police barriers, and they went to the building of the Moldovan parliament and the presidential residence, calling on the leaders of the country to come out and confront them face to face, chanting the slogans “shame”, “stop the rise in prices”, “we want a decent life” and “we don’t try silence us through the prosecutor’s office.” The Public” and “Impeachment of President Maia Sandu”.
