Xavi stirs controversy after Laporta’s statements about the coach’s future

Javi Hernandez, the Barcelona coach, has sparked controversy for his reaction to statements from Juan Laporta, the Catalan club’s president.

Laporta spoke about the future of the Spanish coach at Barça, whose contracts were to be renewed until next year 2026, coinciding with the end of the presidential term at the Camp Nou castle.

Previously, Laporta spoke about renewing his contract with the coach: “Xavi has a contract and he knows he is the best coach at Barcelona. He’s a great person, knows the club well and is very helpful.”

He continued, “We will talk to him about the upgrade at the appropriate time, but there are other priorities right now and he understands that.”

And the Blaugrana president summed up: “We want the coach to continue and he wants it too. I am convinced that he will develop further. We have not yet set a date to discuss the extension. We have talked about this in general, but now is the transfer period has begun”.

According to the newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Hernandez showed complete calm to Laporta’s talk about his future, which caused controversy among the fans, as they were surprised by this calmness.

But the Spaniard believes that Laporta’s words are logical, especially since the Catalan club is currently in a financial crisis, and talk of deals is the most important thing, especially with the start of Mercato.
